We went over chapter 7.4 material, as well as exam 2 and sections 9.1 to 9.3.
We also went over how to use "differentials" and the derivative to make estimates of calculations like the square root of 101. (The differential notation would be dy = f '(x)dx ).
Homework for chapters 6.1, 6.2, and chapter 7 is due this Thursday.

First exam will be on Tuesday, and cover chapters 1,2, 3.1 and 3.2.
Homework for chapter 2 is due on Tuesday following the exam.
Bring a half page scantron form, some questions will be scantron, some not.
The exam is open book, open notes, calculator allowed. Communication capable devices are not allowed.

We went over more of chapter 1, especially sections 1.5 and 1.6, which reviews material you have had in earlier courses.
Complete the chapter 1 review odd problems by next Thursday, and turn in on Thursday.

We went over problems from chapter 1.1-1.5, including linear and exponential functions, which are the major emphasis of chapter 1.
Homework: the odd problems in the chapter review on page 71.
Read chapters 1.1 - 1.5.
