Lesson 2 Introduction

Goals: After completing Lesson 2, you should be able to:

  • display data with graphs - stemplots and, most importantly, histograms and boxplots
  • recognize, describe, and calculate the measures of location of data - quartiles and percentiles
  • recognize, describe, and calculate the measures of the center of data - the mean, the median, and the mode
  • recognize, describe, and calculate the measures of the spread of data - the variance and the standard deviation
